  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees; grease, spray or line 12 muffin cups.
  • Mix flour and baking powder in a small bowl.
  • In another bowl, beat butter until fluffy, then add sugar and mix until well blended.
  • Beat in eggs (thoroughly) and mix in vanilla.
  • Stir in 1/2 flour mix, then 1/2 of milk, beating well after each addition.
  • Add the other half of the flour, mix well, and the rest of the milk, again beating well.
  • Gently stir in blueberries.
  • Spoon into muffin cups.
  • Mix together the tablespoon of sugar and the 1/4 t of nutmeg, sprinkle this on top of the muffins.
  • Bake 23-30 minutes. Cool in pan for 15 minutes.
