Aunt Susan's Taco Soup

"This may sound disgusting to some (including myself at first, I must admit) but it is delicious! Just give it a try! --Please know this...I did not have actual packages of the dry ingredients in front of me so I'm not completely sure that they are 8 oz! Just get 1 regular sized package of each unless you're doubling the recipe. Sorry about this!!"

  • Brown beef & onion in pan, drain grease.
  • Mix all ingredients in crock-pot (including juice from tomatoes!).
  • Cook on high for about an hour, or low for a couple of hours.
  • It will produce more liquid as it cooks so it won't be dry when you eat it.
  • We eat ours with Scoops corn chips & throw some shredded cheese on top. Delicious!

  1. I love this soup!!! I only used 1 onion and added a can of chili beans and used ground turkey since I didn't have any beef in the freezer. This was so easy and tasty! The rest if going in the freezer for future lunches. Made for PAC Spring 2012.
     
  2. I cut the recipe in half as I am the only real soup eater in our house. I froze some for feature lunches too. I did use a full can of tomatoes, pack of ranch and taco seasoning. I think there were a bit too many onions in this. I like onions but thought there were too many. This was a nice taco soup. Made for Spring PAC 2010.
     
  3. this is a good recipe! Especially when it is cold outside! You can also add 2 cans of chili beans also. I have tried it with ground turkey also.
