Auntie Char's Famous Skor Bars

- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 1 package toppables cracker
- 1⁄4 - 1⁄2 cup slivered almonds
- 1⁄2 cup milk chocolate (chips, wafers, bars... whatever!)
directions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
- Cover medium sized cookie sheet in aluminum foil, shiny side up. Neatly line up the Toppables crackers over the foil so that it is completely covered by the crackers.
- Melt the butter in a pot or saucepan over medium heat.
- Add the sugar when butter is melted, and stir slowly and constantly. Continue until the mixture comes to a rapid boil and stir for a minute or two.
- Remove from heat and immediately pour over the crackers. Spread the mixture as evenly as possible.
- Sprinkle as many almonds as you see fit on top of the crackers.
- Bake in the oven for 4 minutes.
- While baking, melt chocolate on low to medium heat. (I simply put a small amount of water in a pan and put a small pot inside the pan, with the chocolate. This melts the chocolate easily and you don't have to worry about the burning of the chocolate or having any special equipment.).
- When you take the cookie sheet out of the oven, simple drizzle the chocolate over the crackers until you get the amount you like. (Eat the rest! Haha!).
- Put in the fridge for a while, until it is hard enough to break into pieces and serve! (There is no definitive seving amount - you can break it into as many or as few pieces as you want!).
