"From our TV programme guide. It is suggested that your use the best maple syrup you can get but for dietary reasons I would use a sugar free maple syrup. Times are estimated."

  1. This is awesome! There's nothing I don't like about this recipe, other than I should have bought more avocado. made for Everyday Holiday tag game. :)

  2. Why does bacon, avocado and maple syrup taste so good together? I have no idea, but it DOES! I used a grainy bread, regular bacon and real Canadian maple syrup that my Aunt just brought for me, directly from a producer in Southern Ontario. I wouldn't change a thing about this recipe! Made for Went To The Market tag game. Thanks I'mPat! :)

  3. whop the hell likes avocado

  4. Great sandwich that quick, easy and so yummy. We loved the contrast between the smoky, salty taste of the bacon and the sweet maple syrup. I had one nice crusty French roll left and the bottom half worked out perfectly to make a yummy open faced sandwich. Thanks for the post.

  5. oh well nice

Tweaks

  1. I am not a fan of maple syrup (personal preference), so I glazed bacon in agave nectar/syrup, served per instructions on toasty baguette slices.... Thanks for great idea! (can nver go wrong when avo & bacon are included)!

With the demise of the forums and with no more interaction on site with what was a great community and it was a pleasure to get to know so many of you over the years and to have had the privilege of meeting some of you in person. For me now this is just another recipe site like to many on the net, it has lost its specialness, such a pity especially when Scripps changed the name from Recipezaar to Food.com and made this statement sorry cannot replicate here as considered invalid but they basically said yes the community was valuable hence .com was short for community but it was a pack of lies as they were not willing to put the money into that community and got rid of the forums which was the community so for .com has become .crap.
