  • In a nonstick skillet over med. heat, cook bacon until crisp; drain on a paper towel lined plate. Do not clean skillet. Cut bread on the diagonal into 4 1 inch thick slices. Place bread in skillet and cook until golden on bottom 1-2 minutes. Flip and top each slice with 2 pieces bacon and a handful of cheese. Cover until cheese melts, about 1 minutes.

  1. So simple yet so good. I will say that I did drain all but just a glaze of the bacon grease from the pan before toasting the bread and that worked great. Thanks for sharing. Made for Fall PAC
     
  2. Delish! This is a very tasty bread. I used pre-cooked bacon for this dish and that cut down considerably on bacon fat. The bread toasted up nicely -- this went very well with our dinner. Made for Spring PAC, May, 2014.
