Baked Beans

"This is a great dish to take to pot luck picnics. It's also a hit with those who usually don't care for beans (myself included). Prep time doesn't include overnight soaking."

  • Soak the beans overnight. Drain in the morning and cover with fresh water and simmer for half an hour.
  • Dice the bacon and cook in a frying pan until crisp, reserve 3 Tbsp of the drippings.
  • Combine all ingredients with the beans and place in a buttered baking dish. Cover and bake at 250 degrees farenheit for 3-6 hours, cook uncovered for the last hour of cooking.
