ingredients
- 2 1⁄2 lbs white beans
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3⁄4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 2 -3 teaspoons salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 3 -4 stalks celery, finely chopped including leaves
- 3 -4 cloves, of garlic crushed
- 1⁄2 lb chopped bacon
- 2 tablespoons molasses
directions
- Soak beans overnight.
- Drain beans and rinse.
- I fry the bacon first to get rid of extra fat, but isn't necessary.
- Put all ingredients into large covered roaster with enough water to cover ingredients.
- Watch liquid during baking.
- Bake 4 to 5 hrs at 325 or until done.
