Baked Beans With a Taste of Orange

"Back in the days when I was cooking a lot with wine & mixers & cordials, etc, I squirreled away my version of baked beans. Today it resurfaced, & here it is! I usually use a version of B&M baked beans. The onion soup mix is 1/2 of a 1-oz envelope."

  1. A nice recipe for a cool night. I also used Grand Marnier and thought the flavor was light, but just right. Enough that it was not overpowering. Very easy to throw together on a cool night. A nice change for baked beans. Great dish !! Made for Zaar Stars.

  2. This was very nice and I enjoyed it a lot. I used Ball Park hot dogs, Bush's baked beans, and orange juice instead of the Curacao. There isnt an overwhelming orange flavor but just enough that you wander what new flavor has been added. Easy meal to put together and very tasty! Thank you Syd for another great recipe. Made and reviewed for the Holiday Tag Game.

  3. I, too, used Grand Marnier and good old Ball Parks but this dish was a tad too sweet for us. Will adjust and make again because this was a quick 'n easy weekday meal. Thanks for sharing Mike, made for PRMR

  4. We used Grand Marnier for the orange Curacao with regular hot dogs. We could taste the liquer and it adds a nice unique taste to this dish. Overall, this is a flavorful dish and adds a nice flair to regular baked beans.

  5. These are a nice change from the usual baked beans. I enjoyed the taste of orange with these and will make them again. A very nice flavor!

  2. This was very good and everyone enjoyed this, especially me because it was so easy. I used kielbasa instead of hot dogs and it was truly delicious. We could not taste the Grand Marnier (Curacao) I added and that is the only complaint. It may have been overpowered by the kielbasa. I will make this again and I will add more Curacao because I think the flavor of this liqueur would be excellent in this dish. Thanks Mike!

  3. I made this with Healthy Balance hot dogs, Bush's Baked Beans and o.j. frozen concentrate. It was a mixed review. I think the o.j. was a bit of a change for us (the 3 yo ate it all :)), but I would make it again, just take out the o.j. I think I would also like to try cutting up turkey kielbasa instead of hot dogs too.
