Baked Brie With Brown Sugar

"UPDATE: After the first review I edited the recipe using less butter. I am one of those cooks who never measures things, so I estimated, and obviously, it was too much butter. The idea is just to brush softened butter over the surface of the brie. I hope this is better! Thanks! This is great party food. A friend gave me this recipe after we all fell in love with it at her party. Enjoy!"

  1. Almost ridiculously easy. But no one would ever know. ;-) The flavor was excellent and the butter helped soften the marked-down cheese that I knew was a bit too old for best results..

  2. This recipe was just okay for me ...too greasy even with the little butter I used and the cheese got too hard too quickly, which made it difficult to spread.

  3. I made this for a girls scrapbooking weekend and served it with an herb & cheese French bread. I also used Pecans instead of Walnuts (just a personal favorite). It was delicious, easy to make - virtually no preparation, and everyone loved it. I refrigerated what wasn't eaten, reheated it the next day for "round 2", and it was just as good. Thanks, Toi!!!

  4. This is a wonderful way to prepare Brie. I brushed about 3 tablespoons of butter on the cheese. It turned out great and I did not experience the "pooling" that the other reviewer did. Mine came out perfectly and I wouldn't change a thing. The brown sugar and walnut topping is an excellent compliment to the Brie. Thanks so much for sharing, ToiCara. This is a winner!!!!

  5. I made this last night for a 50th birthday party. The birthday girl told me that she doesn't normally like brie cheese, but she liked this recipe. The only suggestion that was made was maybe cut back on the butter on the top of the brie round. I had to drain the brie a few times because the butter was pooling on the brie.
