  1. MMMMMMM.......Me like! The oatage-meal slides down the gullet, like a fresh slippy fishy down to the grot of a bird. It fell apart in thy hand and burned thy skin. When too much was jammed into thy mouth, it stained thine platties. The little grains of cinnamon pleaded with me, "please don't eat me!" "I c...c....cc....can't! I must inhale thee little grains of cinnamon.

  2. Made these today as small muffins for a pancake brunch at the American Legion here in Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico. They got rave reviews and had to go home and print off the recipe for people. I followed the recipe using Mexican brown sugar, cinnamon, clove and dried cranberries. I also added chopped apples. Thanks for sharing with us!

  3. I love this recipe, I double the recipe and put all dry ingrediants in a bag, In the morning I simply add wet ingrediants to it and bake it, Makes my breakfast prep so fast and easy. Its so versatile too! my husband and kiddies love it with milk, I eat it with yogurt. Sometimes I simply make another pan in the evening and serve it warm with whipped creme and coffee. Its so filling, and sweet without being terribly unhealthy. I use oldfashioned oats.

  4. Really good, I used old fashioned style oatmeal and subbed dried cranberries for the raisin and in a 8x8 pan. After baking 28 min., the texture was "scoopable" but would not have been able to cut into bars. That's ok as I wanted the oatmeal in a bowl w/ half & half. Flavor was delicious. Have added to my breakfast file.

  5. It holds it's shape and crumbles a bit but it's not a cake so it's to be expected. After an overnight in the fridge it firmed up considerably so perhaps you need to let it fully cool. I added nutmeg and vanilla extract to this as well. Turned out yummylicious! House smelled great while it was baking!

  2. Wow, this oatmeal is amazing!! I've tried lots of oatmeal recipes here on Zaar and this is my favorite! I even had to use water for the milk because my daughter has a dairy allergy. The consistency was crumbly (not sure if it was supposed to be that way or if it was just because of the water instead of milk) and it would make a super-great topping for vanilla ice cream. Serving size is right-on. So yummy and quick to prepare- will be making often. Thanks, Terri :)

  3. We all love this . It is best warm .I usually heat up a square in the microwave for breakfast. Great with dried cranberries instead of raisins .i usually drizzle a little of maple syrup on top too. If you like the oatmeal to go bars , you will love this .

  4. This is a quick and easy dish. I used buttermilk instead of milk, and an apple instead of raisins, as well as increasing the cinnamon to a teaspoon and a half. However, my husband and I still didn't think this was sweet enough when done, so I topped the finished product with powdered sugar. That made it a lot tastier. Also, I baked this in a 9x9 pan for 21 minutes. Thanks for posting!
