  • 1 (16 ounce) package frozen pierogies
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 (8 ounce) package mushrooms, thinly sliced (optional)
  • 14 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • salt and pepper

  • Place pierogies in boiling water until hot, 3-4 minutes; drain.
  • Saute onions, mushroms and garlic in oil until soft.
  • Add marinara sauce, salt and pepper to onion mixture.
  • Heat to boiling and cook 5 minutes.
  • In a 2 quart casserole, arrange pierogies and onion mixture.
  • Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with parmesan cheese, if desired.
