  • Cream sugar and shortening together.
  • Add eggs and blend well.
  • Add soda to mashed bananas.
  • Stir flour into mixture alternately with the banana mixture.
  • Add salt and buttermilk.
  • Bake in greased and floured pans - 350 degree oven for about 40 minutes or until done when tested with a toothpick.

  1. I made this last night for our family to get rid of some over ripe bananas and it is delicious. Very simple to make - I put it in two smaller bread pans and they looked great!
     
  2. I just made this tonight and doubled the recipe because I had a lot of bananas to use. I'm so glad that I went ahead and did that because it's wonderful and I know it will go quickly!
