- 1⁄2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
- 3⁄4 cup sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup mashed ripe banana
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 3⁄4 cups flour
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 pinch salt
- 1⁄2 cup sour milk

Cream Cheese Frosting
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
- 1⁄2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
- powdered sugar
directions
- Cream margarine and sugar.
- Add egg, bananas and vanilla.
- Blend well.
- Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Add 1/3 of the dry ingredients to the banana mixture alternately with 1/2 of the milk.
- Blend after each addition.
- Pour into 9 inch square pan.
- Bake in 350F oven for 45-50 minutes.
- Cream Cheese Frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter together.
- Add powdered sugar to taste.
