  1. I miss read and ended up layering the filling and the bananas twice. Then topped it with cool whip and a sprinkling of nutmeg. Yummy! Incidently by double layering there was lots of banana flavor through out the pie. Delish!!

  2. Easy to make and taste great! Topped it with "Never Weep" Whipped Cream Recipe #74805 and used banana cream pudding dry mix in the topping for extra flavor. Thanks for sharing!

  3. YUM YUM YUM!!!!! I chose this recipe specifically because it had sweetened condensed milk in it. I've never made a cream pie with it before, always just used sugar and milk. The texture was fabulous and the taste incredible. It thickened up BEAUTIFULLY, even though I scribbled the directions quickly and couldn't read my own writing and used 2 egg yolks instead of 3. I put it in a graham cracker pie crust and topped it with recipe#79506. It reminded me VERY much of Johnny Ray's pie in Alabama. DH said it needed more banana flavor (he's a yankee, and in the south we only have banana flavor by the addition of the bananas) so next time I might use a combination of vanilla extract and banana extract. I LOVE the taste and texture of the filling, and might also use it for coconut cream pie, or add cocoa for chocolate pie. Thanks so much for posting!

  4. I haven't made this in awhile. But I take an extra banana or two And mash them up and add to the condensed sweeetned milk and egg mixture or filling befor I add it to the pie shell. Adds more flavor. Thank you. Delish!

  5. This was such an easy recipe and quite delicious! I cooked mine in the microwave for 6 minutes, stirring after each 3 minute increment. I guess it would be dependent on your microwave though. Mine came out perfect. This will be my go to recipe for cream pie. I definitely will be experimenting with other flavors such as coconut and chocolate cream pie. Yummo!

Tweaks

  1. This went over very well. Used whipped cream instead of bothering with a meringue. Used Easy As Pie No Roll Crust (93312).

  2. Delicious! The kids and I had this gone in 1 day. We used Cool Whip instead of meringue. Thanks Peggy!

  3. I cannot even begin to say just how much my family loves this. I keep saying I am going to try it with whipped cream instead of meringue, but meringue always wins out. DH could eat an entire pie on his own. He absolutely loves it. Thanks!!
