  • Preheat oven 180 degrees Celsius, gas 4.
  • Grease a 7x11 pan.
  • Put the butter, brown sugar and chocolate in large pan and heat gently stirring to melt.
  • Remove from heat when smooth.
  • Stir in the nuts, eggs and bananas.
  • Sift in the self-rising flour, cocoa and baking powder.
  • Pour into pan.
  • Bake in centre of the oven for 30 minutes until just firm in the centre of the cake.
  • Cool in the tin.
  • Cut into 15 squares.
