Barbecue or Oven Baked Pizza Bread

"Easy to make pizza bread starting with a loaf of French bread or you could also use kaiser rolls or other bakery buns. Great for lunch or dinner, or cut into smaller slices for appetizers. You can bake it in the oven, or cook the hamburger first and make it on the barbecue. You can change the seasonings to taste and add other favorite pizza toppings if you like. Times given are for the oven method. Additional time is required to cook the hamburger for the barbecue method."

 1. All the kids loved this. It was a little different, cooking the ground turkey in the oven. It came out really thick and hearty. I used Italian, mushrooms on one side instead of olives, dried minced onions (wanted to use green onions, but was too lazy!) and cheddar cheese. Might try cooking the meat first next time to see how it compares. My pepperoni lover wants pepperoni on top next time! :)

 2. This was delicious! It seemed unusual to me, but when it came out it was quite tasty. My family loved it, but said it was a bit messy to eat. I will experiment with some other add-ins in the sauce (pesto?) and can't wait to try it this summer on the grill.

 3. The last review I wrote seems to have gotten lost,so, here's a shorter version of it. I made this for two people so I had to make quite a bit less. The best way I thought to do this was not the bake the raw filling in the bread(because I was using buns). I cooked the meat and added the rest of the filling ingredients to it. I them filled the rolls, put on the cheese and wrapped the sandwich's in foil. With 10 mins at 400 degrees and the filling being hot they turned out wonderfully! I did skip the sugar and added garlic and basil. I think DH has a new favorite sandwich. It's kind of a Sloppy Luigi and the kids will love this!

 4. This made for a quick and easy Saturday night treat.
I used fresh baked panini rolls from my favourite bakery, and they worked really well. I also threw in a little garlic powder and a few chilli flakes into the meat mixture...delicious!
Thumbs up for this. Made for PRMR.

 5. Nice little treat tonight. To be honest, I wanted to replace the olives, but went with it, just to be fair, anyways well received by everyone here. Used cheddar cheese, brown sugar and dried chives with this.
