  • Combine all dry ingredients.
  • Add liquid ingredients and mix well.
  • Allow batter to chill in refrigerator for a least 1 hour before using.
  • Dip food in batter and place into hot oil.

  1. This had a great flavor! We did fried zucchini sticks and chicken strips with this batter. Both were fantastic and turned out well. I found that rolling each in flour first helped the batter to stick a little better. Also, drop these into the oil, don't use a basket. The batter likes to incorporate itself into the mesh.
     
  2. I used it to make chicken fingers! Next time I'm going to add more garlic and cayenne to give it more flavor! My husband loved it!
     
  3. After searching for a good batter for onion rings, this is very good. I made the recipe last night for my hubby.He is not afraid to speak his mind, if ya know what I man?LOL! Anyway,he really liked it, so for him,thank you, and for me, a bigger thank you! The onion rings had "flavor", not just bland like so many are. It's useless to have a good presentation, if there is no flavor. So. again, many thanks.

  5. I used this on halibut last night, I make homemade fish and chips. The taste was great the beer was not overpowering. thanks so much for posting. Its a keeper.
