Basic Italian White Cream Sauce (Like an Alfredo or Bechamel)

"This recipe is for a basic Italian White Cream Sauce (like an Alfredo or bechamel) for Pasta, Chicken, Shrimp, etc. You can add other ingredients to suit your liking, this is the basic version - goes great over Fettuccine or Tortellini... you can also add 1 teaspoon oregano or parsley to flavor. If you throw in some bacon, carmelized onion & a handful of frozen peas & serve over pappardelle it is absolutely fabulous!"

  1. I've made sauces before. This is the first time it's turned out this bad. The butter completely separated from the rest, which looks like oatmeal. Tasted really good though! And I followed the recipe exactly.

  3. Was in a pinch and needed a quick cream sauce recipe. This was sooo good and just what I was looking for! I added some minced garlic into the butter for a minute before adding the other ingredients. Delicious!

  4. Amazing and simple! I made this last week for my family and regular dinner guest. I doubled the recipe didn't change anything except I used fresh garlic instead of the powder. It was absolutely delicious, my children loved it.

  5. I made this to go along with Tortellini Michaelangelo, which is recipe #303050. I substituted fat free half and half for the heavy cream and it came out perfectly.....with much lower fat and calories. I couldn't tell the difference. I also used 2 cloves of fresh garlic for the garlic powder. Very easy and tasty.
