“This is my grandmother's recipe - I believe she got it from a magazine many years ago however no one can remember which. Very simple, but excellent. Serving numbers and preparation time are estimates. I don't use the cinnamon or nutmeg, generally use 250g cream cheese and low fat milk. Freezes well.”

  1. Meat:
  2. Fry diced onion and mince.
  3. When cooked, drain fat.
  4. Stir in tomato paste and puree.
  5. Cook on low for 15 minutes.
  6. Sauce:
  7. Melt butter in saucepan.
  8. Add flour and cook 1 minute.
  9. Add milk slowly, stirring all the time.
  10. Beat eggs and cream cheese together in a bowl.
  11. Add to saucepan.
  12. Cook on high until starts bubbling.
  13. When bubbling, cook on low until thick.
  14. Layer meat and instant lasagna sheets into casserole dish.
  15. Pour cheese sauce over top.
  16. Cook 40 minutes on low oven (160-180degrees Celsius).
