  • Put the lentils in a large slow cooker and add the water.
  • Stick the cloves in the onion and add it to the lentils with the bay leaf.
  • Cover and cook on HIGH for 4-5 hours, or until the lentils are tender.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Let stand for 10 minutes.
  • Discard the onion and bay leaf.
  • Drain the lentils and serve hot.

  1. Easy, good, basic pot of lentils. Great with crusty homemade bread. The cloves added a subtle flavor-could take or leave them.
