Basic Shortbread Cookies

"Light and flakey,this recipe is a cookie baking staple around my house, with it's minimal ingredients and tasty results. I use it for cut-out Christmas cookies in the winter, and add orange or lemon zest for a cool summer alternative."

  • Mix all ingredients until dough comes together (will seem very crumbly at first).
  • Roll out and cut into shapes.
  • Bake on a greased pan at 350° until edges are lightly browned (watch carefully, as these cook VERY FAST).
  • Frost if desired.
