- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 1⁄4 cups flour
- 5 -6 leaves fresh basil, minced
directions
- Preheat oven to 300*.
- Cream together butter and sugar til light and fluffy. Add flour and blend until well incorporated. Add in basil and knead until smooth, about 3 minutes.
- Now you can pat the dough out into a 1/3 inch thick rectangle and cut into 2 inch x 1 inch strips or you can crumble the dough evenly over an ungreased sheet pan for a more rustic presentation.
- Bake at 300* for 25 minutes until bottoms are golden brown. Remove to a wire rack to cool.
