I couldn't stop eating these potatoes - didn't care if I had anything else! I had to use regular baking potatoes and guess at the amount. I also substituted 1 tsp of a combination garlic, parsley and salt combination for the garlic powder. I wrapped it in double foil and DH cooked it on a covered BBQ grill. The chili - honey -garlic flavor with a bit of blacking from the butter is totally addicting!

I mixed everything, cut the 'taters and tossed in a big bowl. I then covered it and put it in the frige for a few hours while I got everything else for our BBQ ready. I cooked them in the oven and they came out really good. My BF said they sort of tasted like sweet potatoes. I think this sauce would be good on chicken or pork too. Thanks!

Absolutely wonderful! As in another review, I cut up the potatoes, tossed them to coat and put in refrigerator for a few hours, then baked them in the oven. They came out so nicely browned and flavorful. Just for my own families taste I am going to cut back a little on the chili powder the next time. I served them with the Meat Loaf Barbecue Style #17394, a small salad and a vegtable. What a wonderful dinner. Thanks for posting this great potato recipe.

I found this recipe while searching for low-sodium dishes. It is very good. So far I've made it twice using the Recipe #16892 recipe from this site since most commercial chili powders have salt. The first time I cooked it in a double layer foil packet, on a double burner gas grill set on high heat. I turned it every 10 mins for about 40 mins, but some of the potatoes burned (they still tasted good though). The second time I again cooked it in a double layer foil packet on the grill set to high heat, but this time I moved the packet to a less hot part of the grill and I turned it every five mins for about 30 mins. Came out perfect! Even my picky husband thought they were great even though they had no salt!! The second time, I made a 2nd batch of marinade and used it on skinless, boneless chicken, again with no salt. Came out really great!! Both times I used oil instead of butter, and the second time I used a little more honey and a little more garlic powder. Thanks for a recipe that really doesn't need salt to be truly delicious.

These potatoes were wonderful!! Especially the ones that get dark and crunchy, now those are really sublime! We did make a couple of minor modifications, such as we doubled the amount of honey, and used garlic salt in place of garlic powder, plus we cut the potatoes into smaller pieces in order to take advantage of more surface space to enjoy the sauce on. We also stir the potatoes occasionally to really keep them bathed in the delicious bbq sauce. These are impressively good, and simple to make, and can be used as a side dish or as a snack. We dip them in a little light sour cream, and that's all we need. Thanks so much for this wonderful recipe!

No wonder 44 people have triend and enjoyed these. An easy, no-fuss recipe that yields a flavorful side dish. I used the foil technique in the oven with red potatoes which were moist and tender, soaking up the sweetness of the honey as well as the zip of the chili pepper. Replaced the butter with heart healthy olive oil. Thanks for a solid recipe. Will certainly make these again.
