  1. What a wonderful french toast!!! I feel the butter is essential to get the flavor of a bear claw pastry. I am not fond of almond extract/alcohol, despite loving actual almonds, so I just used the vanilla extract. i wasn't sure what was meant by flaked almonds, I felt sliced almonds are so thin that they might burn before the toast was done so went with the slivered almonds. Definitely will make again, but will leave the almonds out of the butter, it was overkill and didn't match the flavor of the toasted ones. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Made for PRMR Tag Game.
