1. I was just going to post this recipe! This was one of my mom's signature dishes growing up, and she was also a mom of five. The only thing I do different is that I use 1/4 cup of olive oil instead of shortening. Excellent recipe. One of my all time favorites.

 2. I made this years ago and lost the recipe. So glad I found it...it is absolutely delish! I use beef broth in place of the water for more flavor. This recipe does not disappoint!

 3. Recipe said add ketchup, but didn't specify an amount, so I looked up similar recipes and added 3/4 of a cup. This was just wonderful. I put it in the oven in my clay baker all day on low and served it over noodles. Real comfort food. Definitely a keeper.

I homeschool my five children and so appreciate this site and the aid it is to me. I like trying recipes that others have test driven and recommend. I don't have a lot of spare time to cook, and Recipezaar makes it so easy. Thanks to all of the people who supply these recipes, time and effort!
