Beef Spanish Rice

"Wow there are a lot of great spanish rice recipes on Zaar but none just like our family favorite. The original recipe came from a hamburger cookbook from sometime in the 70's. The cookbook bit the dust years ago but not this recipe. It's a good basic recipe that lots of things could be added to for personnel preferences. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do."

  • brown hamburger and drain.
  • Add all other ingredients to the beef and bring to a boil then lower heat to low and cover.
  • Cook for 20 minutes.
  • Remove and discard bay leaves and enjoy.
  • I usually cook the green pepper with the beef when browning beef and if using onions would also cook with the browning beef.

  1. I had been searching the net all day trying to find a ‘Spanish style’ ground beef meal that, would be easy, filling and delicious, using the things I had on hand. After seeing so many wonderful recipes, I accidentally, stumbled upon this little gem. What caught my eye was the age of the actual recipe because, I enjoy how comforting and tasty they were, as well as the no fuss or fancy staples required. As I suspected this one was a hit! It would be very easy to switch it up to one’s taste preference or for items you have ect. I’m not sure why it hadn’t had any reviews after all this time but, I for one, am so very happy I found this recipe and gave it a try. It is now a meal regular.
