ingredients
- 1 lb stewing beef, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 3 carrots, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 small onion, cut into chunks
- 2 stalks celery, sliced
- 1 (10 ounce) can beef broth
- 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1⁄2 cup quick-cooking tapioca
- 2 whole cloves
- 2 bay leaves
- salt and pepper
directions
- Trim fat from the meat.
- Put all ingredients in crockpot and mix thoroughly.
- Cover with lid and cook on low setting for 12 hours.

I like to find recipes that are great tasting but aren't too complicated. I love using the crock pot and finding comfort foods that are do-able. I have found some great recipes in The Complete Crockpot Cookbook by Wendy Louise and in Best of the Best from Louisiana.
