  • 1 12 lbs round steaks, trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 12 ounces crimini mushrooms
  • 1 cup red wine (something you'd drink yourself, NOT cooking wine)
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 cup sour cream (you can use lite, but...don't)
  • cooked egg noodles

  • I find that slicing the meat is much easier if you do it while it is partially frozen. I slice it VERY thinly in strips. Trim as much fat from the meat as possible before slicing.
  • Heat the oil in a pan.
  • Cook the meat until brown.
  • Add mushrooms and cook until all liquid is gone.
  • Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Add beef broth and wine.
  • Simmer on low heat until liquid is reduced by 1/2.
  • Add sour cream.
  • Pour over noodles.
  • Great with a green salad!
