The recipe can also be prepared in the oven- It takes 3 hours in a 300 degree oven."

  • Brown beef lightly in oil.
  • Add salt, onions, garlic, basil, lemon peel, and paprika.
  • Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Sprinkle flour over beef and mix well.
  • Add wine, beef stock, carrots, and simmer for 1 hour.
  • Add mushrooms and simmer 15 minutes longer or until beef is tender.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley.
