  1. This was delightfully different, and we licked every last drop. It was very easy. The ingredients tasted great together. This recipe made 2 3/4 cups in my Vitamix. I don't have a lot of experience with palate cleansers, but this would reverse a heavy savory taste. I think the whipping cream and liqueurs are better suited to a dessert. How about small chocolate cups with this mix topped with a fresh strawberry or a few blueberries? Bakers, I bet you could turn this into a killer frosting for an angel food cake, with chopped glazed pecans sprinkled on top; the nip would be a great surprise. With 3 ounces adding up to 200 calories, portion control is important. Thanks for entering this in RSC #11; this was indeed a Hidden Gem.

I am an American transplanted from Dallas to Iceland by marriage to a native Icelander & I retired to become his "Kitchen Queen". We love to entertain our family & friends, so I have an eclectic collection of recipes. I especially love simple, easy-fix, flexible & make-ahead recipes - BUT also like challenging myself on occasion. I enjoy baking & food photography. I am devoted to the "More is Always Better Principle" & apply it liberally to bacon, butter & garlic. I can have ingredient issues due to availability here in Iceland & my DH is medically diet-restricted from some ingredients as well. Either situation might require me to modify a recipe, but I will do my best to be true to your recipes & fair/honest in my reviews. Mary Pat (aka twissis)
