ingredients
- 1 lb frozen peas, thawed
- 1⁄3 cup sour cream
- 1⁄3 cup mayonnaise
- 1⁄2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 lb Spanish peanut
- salt and pepper
directions
- In a bowl combine all ingredients.
- mix well.
- Chill several hours before eating.

Made this as one of my contributions to this year’s Easter dinner per request of my sister-in-law. A local restaurant serves this, and thought I’d never eaten it there and so didn’t know how it should taste, DSIL said it was very close and enjoyed it. My mom and DFIL were the other big takers for this particular dish and chowed down on it.

Unusual, very tasty, and well received by those to whom I served it: a recipe that I’ll certainly make again. This may be michEgan’s favourite peas and peanut recipe, but I have never tried peas and nuts together, so I have nothing with which to compare it! I halved the recipe because I was making this for four and I wasn’t sure how the nuts would fare in any that was left over. I subbed Greek yoghurt for the sour cream and used a low fat mayonnaise. Because I prefer cashews to peanuts, I used half peanuts and half cashews. The peanuts were salted so I added no extra salt, and the cashews were honey roasted, so that added a delicious sweetness. On a whim, I added two grated baby carrots, which were also very sweet; and before chilling I added a couple of grindings of freshly ground black pepper. Thank you for a most unusual recipe, made on a very hot day when cooking was totally out of the question! Everyone came back for seconds so there were no leftovers! Enough said!

I love to cook. I also love to garden, both vegetables and flowers are my passion. I enjoy the great out doors, also, looking for new and interesting recipes to make for my family. Baking in the cooler fall and winter months fills the home with such wonderful aromas, plus living in the Great Lakes State, sometimes you do not see the sun for weeks. So filling the home with inviting aromas with fresh baked breads, cakes, cookies or hearty stews and soups is a must to lift the spirits! Canning is another one of my passions. I love the taste of "Good " home canned produce, expecially when it comes out of my garden! The produce truly is a gift From God, and I am very thankful for it!
Hobbies: I live on a mini farm, raising Chickens and turkeys. I also have 5 German Shorthaired Pointer dogs that take up a lot of my time. I also enjoy playing cards and get togethes with family and friends.
Health: I'm always looking and researching on what things makes us healthy. I really enjoying researching on line different new products for good health. Somethings I order, just don't pan out, while other, have really helped my health improve. I always try to go the natural way. I would love to some day buy all organic cotton bedding, cloths, but that can be very expensive.
