Betty's Beer Margarita

"Betty was a friend of mine who was around my dads age and was like a mother to me. She used to tell me about this drink and what was in it but I never had them until now because I didn't have her exact recipe. Betty died of lung cancer last February, before I could get her recipe. I found the recipe on "The Food Network" web site and improvised it to suit my taste and named it after Betty. You can add more tequila if you want to. Warning: More than one might sneak up on you because you can't taste the tequila! :)"

directions

  • Pour lime juice or the 2 tablespoons of limeade onto a saucer.
  • Spoon the salt onto another saucer so that there is a thin layer of salt.
  • Dip the rim of a beer mug or a tall glass in the lime juice/limeade and then in the salt.
  • Pour beer, limeade concentrate and tequila into a 2 cup measuring cup and stir well.
  • Pour into the beer mug/tall glass (with or without ice).
  • Put the lime wedge on the rim of the mug/glass to make it look like you are having a fancy drink.
  • Cheers
  • Note:For best results, put the beer mug/glass in the freezer for about 10 or 15 minutes before serving to have a nice cold, frosty mug/glass.
  • It helps keep the drink cold longer.

  1. This was pretty good. I never drink beer and I actually thought this was good for the few drinks off it I had before handing it to DH. I am a big fan of margarita and this was a neat twist on one. Simple to make and ingredients a lot of people might have on hand make this a good quick drink to jazz up a dinner party or whatever. I think I would add a bit more limeade next time since the beer was most prominent. We used kokanee.

  2. This combination worked well. More of a beer taste than some beer margaritas that I've tried, but none the less, a good drink. I added additional fresh lime juice just for personal preference. Thanks for sharing.

  3. This is especially tasty using Mike's Hard Lemonade for the beer.

  4. my husband bartends one night a week and I told him about this recipe. He made for us and enjoyed it very much.

  5. Two of our favorite things in one - beer and margaritas! We had a few pitchers of these while celebrating my dh's birthday last weekend. My brother-in-law said he had to add about double the limeade to get more of a lime taste going. Never-the-less, it was a great treat! Pam

I just love to cook. I love to experiment with different recipes and love to get new ones. I love to share my recipes and love to have others taste things I make. I baked a lot while I was living at home...in high school. I have babysat for over 33 years for different people I have cooked meals for them when it was needed. At one time, I babysat 2 children in my apartment and cooked dinner for them, their mom and their grandmother. I loved it. I took care of them for a couple of years. The name AuntWoofieWoof has a very special meaning. I babysat for a family with 3 children in their home several years ago. One day the youngest boy came up to me and said "Aunt Woofie Woof......." and proceeded to say what he had to say. He called me that name for 2 days. When I asked him where he got the name from, his reply was "It was on a Dr Suess tape my momma got me at the Library". I thought it was so cute that I decided to use it on the internet. I babysat for that family for 8 years!! That little boy is now in middle school. I still see him and his family every now and then. His mom and I keep in touch over the phone. I usually spend Thanksgiving Day with them. It is fun watching the kids grow into fine young adults. The oldest daughter, is in her early 20's, is working and has her own place. She is a beautiful young lady. I am a Substitute Playground Supervisor and a Crossing Guard at an Elementary School. I love both jobs. <img src="http://www.recipezaar.com/members/home/296809/BannerforAMpages1a.jpg"> <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/PACfall08partic.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"> <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/IWasAdoptedfall08.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"> <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w115/bugh8er/food%20and%20swaps/4811_36055_t.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"> <img src="http://www.pickle.com/plink/ph/795B07337A4704307B51032E7D5F0A3578501C512307476E143E5A652E076C38735E0A377E5C0B31140741682C4659712C.jpg" border="0" alt="RSC-HiddenGem-part"title="Photo and Video Sharing"/> <img src="http://www.recipezaar.com/members/home/1535/CLC2.gif"> <img src="http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b280/carolinamoon21/Derfcookathon.jpg"> <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/Adopted1smp.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"> <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/smPACp.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"> <img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/SaltPepperSwap.jpg"> <img src="http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/DUCHESS13/RSC%20Banners/RSC11-Participant.jpg"> <img src="http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q23/vseward/Bevy/officialmemberofthebevtaggame.jpg"> <img src="http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q23/vseward/GIFS/zaargroupie.gif"> <img src="http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i25/bayhill/bswap11.jpg"> <img src="http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j10/housedaughter/cswap.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"> <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/PAC08Main.jpg"> <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/adoptedspring08.jpg"> <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v260/AuntWoofieWoof/CafeZmakkBanner2.jpg" width=90%> . <img src="http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y53/DUCHESS13/Zaar%20World%20Tour%204/ZWTAB-tg.gif">
