Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Melt shortening and chocolate in top of double boiler over simmering water.
  3. Remove from heat, add sugar, mixing well.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla, beat until well blended.
  5. Stir in flour and salt.
  6. Spread batter evenly in a well-greased 13 x 9 x 2" baking pan.
  7. Bake 25 minutes.
  8. Cool completely in pan and frost (if desired).
  9. Cut into squares.
