Bills Poached Pears----Southern Style

8 pear halves

ingredients
- 4 pears, ripe but not soft
- 2 cups red wine
- 1⁄4 cup tea, strong
- 11 fresh basil leaves
- 1⁄4 cup honey
- 1 1⁄2 tablespoons sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1⁄4 teaspoon ginger
- 1⁄8 teaspoon black pepper
- 8 teaspoons blue cheese, soft
directions
- Skin Pears.and cut in half. Pour remaining (except for 7 basil leaves) in a pan or pot that will make the solution deep enough to cover the pear halves.Bring to a simmer and cook and stir for about 3 minutes. Put the pears in the pot and poach for about 4 minutes .Take off heat and let stand for 15 minutes then remove and put in the refrigerator. Cook down to it thickens and drizzel over pears just before serving. Decorate each pear half with remaining basil leaves and blue cheese. Enjoy.
