Birthday Peanut Butter Chicken

"This is a family recipe of a former roommate of mine. She was a little cooking-challenged, so she had her Mom teach me all her favorite recipes so I could fix them for her! I used to make this every year for her birthday."

  1. I thought this was very tasty. I added the coriander and cayenne pepper (actually I used red chili powder) very liberally, as we like things highly spiced. Yummy!

  2. The sauce had such an odd flavor to it, perhaps too much peanut butter?

  3. very nice sauce! will make again. will try adding slightly more peanut butter/slightly less tomato paste and no sugar next time to suite my craving better. My son enjoyed it very much as well. thank you for sharing this delicious recipe...

  4. This is my new favvy chicken recipe! The flavours are well balanced, and the sauce is silky. I omitted the green peppers, and substituted hot pepper flakes for the cayenne. With the left overs, I tore the chicken into pieces and heated with parmesan and the sauce. I cooked some fresh pasta and tossed with the chicken mixture. It is a very versatile recipe. Kudos!
