  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 13 cup water, lukewarm
  • 34 cup milk, scalded
  • 14 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 14 cup oil
  • 3 34 cups flour

directions

  • Poof yeast in lukewarm water.
  • Add milk, sugar, salt, egg, oil and flour.
  • Beat well to make a smooth dough; make sure milk is only warm.
  • Let rise until doubled.
  • Cut with doughnut cutter.
  • Fill with prune or apricot filling.
  • Let set a few minutes.
  • Fry in deep fat until nice and brown.
