Cream cheese layer
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 1⁄4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg

Cake Layer
- 1 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 1⁄3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1⁄2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (3 oz.)
directions
- Preheat oven to 350° and line 16 muffin cups with foil of paper liners.
- Prepare cheese layer: Beat cream cheese, sugar, and egg until forms a gritty paste.
- Prepare cake layer: Mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Whisk water, oil, egg, and vanilla.
- Stir into flour mixture.
- Stir in 1/2 of chocolate chips.
- Fill prepared cups half full with chocolate batter.
- Using remaining chocolate batter and all of cream cheese batter, spoon batters side by side over bottom cake layer.
- Making a top that is black and white.
- Sprinkle other half of chips on top.
- Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until wooden pick placed in center comes out clean.
- Let cool and enjoy.
