- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 (15 ounce) can black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1⁄2 cup plain breadcrumbs
- salt and pepper
directions
- Sauté onions and garlic.
- Pour beans into a bowl. Mash with a potato masher. Mix in onions and garlic.
- Stir in egg and bread crumbs. Season with cumin, salt and pepper.
- Form into 4 patties.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add patties. Fry on both sides until browned.
