- 1 cup margarine
- 1⁄2 cup Crisco
- 2 3⁄4 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 teaspoons black walnut flavoring (if using extract I use only 1tsp.)
- 1⁄2 cup finely chopped black walnut

Butter Cream Frosting
- 1⁄2 cup margarine
- 2 teaspoons black walnut flavoring
- 1 (3 ounce) package cream cheese
- 1 lb confectioners' sugar
- 1⁄2 cup finely chopped black walnut
directions
- Preheat oven to 300.
- Grease and flour tube pan.
- I start at the top and add all items on list one by one until I have it all in the bowl and mix until smooth.
- Bake for 1 hour 35 minutes or until cake tests done.
- Remove from oven and let set 10 minutes.
- Remove cake from pan and let it cool completely.

Butter Cream Frosting:
- Soften margarine and cream cheese. mix together all ingredients except nuts.Add flavoring last.If mixture is too thick to spread add a few drops of water. Apply to cake then sprinkle with nuts.
