  • Combine blackberries and sugar in a pot over medium heat. Bring to a simmer.
  • Strain seeds if desired, then return juice to pot, reserving 1 tbsp of juice in a small bowl.
  • Add the cornstarch to the reserved juice (make sure the juice has cooled down first). Blend completely.
  • Add cornstarch mixture to juice; bring to a boil.
  • Stir frequently, until jam is thickened, about 15 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice.
