“This is from Southern Living's The Southern Living Cookbook. I almost always double the reicpe and bake in either a 9x13" or half sheet pan. Also, I have replaced the flour/baking soda/salt with self rising flour with fine results. These freeze well.”

Directions

  1. Combine butter and brown sugar. Add egg and vanilla.
  2. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Add to butter-sugar mixture, combining well. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans.
  3. Spread into a greased and floured 8" square pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
