  1. It may be a regional thing (I'm from northern illinois) but blue moon has always been labelled as an "almond flavor" and it does taste like almond extract a bit, so for me this is way too fruity and the lemon oil is over powering despite having only used 1/4 teaspoon and after I added a whole teaspoon of almond extract to try and balance it out. I would love to try this recipe again with more almond extract, less lemon oil and maybe vanilla paste instead of extract since the vanilla flavor gets lost under everything else.

  2. I first had Blue Moon Ice Cream at the House of Flavors in Ludington, MI back in the 1970s. We lived in the East Coast where it wasn't available, but would usually visit family every summer and I would look forward to the Blue Moon Ice Cream every year. I took my 2 year old son a couple of summers ago for the same treat. It made such an impression that he recently asked me to buy him some. No go in these parts. Thankfully I found this recipe. This recipe nails it. I can't discern any difference. My son is now 4 and asks for me to make it all the time.

  3. So good! Brings back the best childhood memories of Blue Moon ice cream during vacation. Made one batch for myself to try out and promptly made my sister a batch as soon as I had that first bite! Love it so much!

  4. This does sound good but the thing is, Blue Moon ice cream doesnt have raspberries in it. It has pineapple! So Im going to try it without the raspberries and lemon oil!

  5. Tooo salty yuck. Threw it out tried without salt. It was delicious. Why is salt necessary?
