These were wonderful. I too used lemon since that's what I had and I think it goes better with blueberry. I added a few more berries since I wanted to use up the fresh ones I had on hand. The glaze on top really was good and so unexpected. The biscuits rose and were only slightly sweet so perfect for breakfast. Thanks for sharing!

How was this recipe overlooked for so long?! This is a delicious, but simple, recipe for dessert biscuits. I used lemon rind instead of orange rind (didn't have an orange) and left out the nutmeg (personal preference) but otherwise followed the recipe closely. I thought that the blueberries would burst when I kneaded them into the dough, but they all stayed intact. I got 20 biscuits out of the recipe, so I think I'll roll it out a little thicker next time. Thanks for posting this, NurseDi!
