  1. Stir together the first four ingredients. Cut in the shortening until mix resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Add the milk and mix until just combined. Gently fold in the berries.
  3. Drop dough by spoonfuls onto a greased sheet; sprinkle with sugar.
  4. Bake at 425 degrees for 15-17 minutes until light brown.
