Blueberry Kefir Smoothie

"Just a simple smoothie, with lots of antioxidants and probiotics. You can up the yum factor by sprinkling some cinnamon, flax, or adding a squirt of honey on the top! Pair it with a piece of toast and you're set until lunchtime! Also, you get a full serving of milk products and fruit!"

  1. I made this tonight then started looking for other recipes and found this one posted. I make my own kefir, used the frozen blueberries and also added some dried honey - something I found at the Asian market and really like because it adds no liquid. So delicious! Mr. Grumpy has just asked me to make another batch. I put it in a beaker and use my hand blender.

  2. Blueberry heaven! I didn't add any honey, flax or anything else, because I wanted a simple fruit smoothie for breakfast. And this served that purpose quite nicely. I couldn't get kefir at my local market, so I used vanilla yogurt (I hope is an acceptable substitution for this recipe). And this was so scrumptious. I loved it. Tasty and refreshing. Thank you for sharing your recipe, celtichedgehog. Made for Spring 2012 Pick-A-Chef.
