Blueberry Sour Cream Pie (Easy)

"I got this one out of a book about restaurants in Florida - the recipe was courtesy of Timmy's Nook on Captiva Island. It is an easy but elegant dessert when time is short. It takes advantage of convenience items - pre-made graham cracker crust and canned blueberry pie filling. It does have to be chilled for a few hours (which I did not include in the prep and cooking time)."

Questions & Replies

  1. I used to eat this at the Nook and have made this pie every year for my father in law's birthday for years. Now I want to enter it into a fall farmer's market pie contest but the catch is I cannot use blueberries b/c they are out of season. What fruit do you think would be best to substitute? Apples? Plums? Peaches? I will make the filing myself, as I have done with the blueberries for the past few times Thanks for any input!

Reviews

  1. Talk about a great and easy pie! Surprisingly, it did not seem overly sweet. I would recommend using a good brand of pie filling, such as Comstock. I used the store brand and I think it was a little bland. I made two of these for a picnic that our department had on Sunday and everyone raved over them. Thanks for a delicious pie!

Hello Everyone After a couple of years of using many, many recipes off this wonderful web-site, I finally decided to sign on. I am a retired widow living in the St. Petersburg area of Florida. I grew up in Minnesota and lived 30 years in the Boston area before moving to Florida 17 years ago. I was a commercial real estate broker. After my husband passed away I switched gears and became a cruise agent (it was a tough job, but somebody has to do it-LOL). I really enjoyed the traveling and meeting many new people. I have 3 children and 6 grandchildren and I am very fortunate that they live in this area and I get to see them often. My favorite pastimes are reading, walking (usually with my dog), and cooking. My pet peeve is crabby people!
