ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup Crisco
- 3 egg yolks
- 7 egg whites, stiffly beaten
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 1⁄2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 bar German sweet chocolate
- 1⁄2 cup oleo
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
directions
- Melt german sweet chocolate bar in oleo. Add in vanilla. Mix in remaining ingredients. Fold in egg whites. Bake in 3 8" round pans for 30 minutes at 375.
- Hint: beat egg whites first. Use same beaters without washing.
