  1. Preheat oven to 350*F.
  2. Beat egg yolks with rotary beater until light and lemon colored. Add brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, salt, butter, vanilla and syrup and blend well.
  3. Beat egg whites in another bowl until stiff but not dry. Fold 1/3 into yolk mixture to loosen, then fold in remainder along with 3/4 cup walnuts.
  4. Turn into unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle with remaining nuts.
  5. Bake until knife inserted in center comes out clean, about 50 minutes.
  6. Serve warm or cold with whipped cream or ice cream.
