  1. This bread is delicious! The only things I did differently were brushing olive oil on the top when it came out and dusting it with parsley flakes. I will make this one again.

  2. The bread was delicious, the only change I made was substituting ham for the bacon because I was out and had the ham on hand it was delicious, will use bacon next.

  3. 2nd on my list for my new breadmaker Fri!! I think a fried egg sandwich will do GREAT ON THIS!!! THANKS amber

  4. This bread is absolutely delicious! My loaf pan had a difficult time containing it though! Planning on making this again as a braid, or rolls. It puts me in the mind of the brochen I used to get in Germany with the bacon and cheese baked into them. Very, very yummy!

  5. Wonderful bread -- I used it for snacking as well as for making small sandwiches. I, too, substituted bacon grease for the oil. I also replaced about 1/4 c. of white flour with 1/4 c. of pumpernickel rye flour -- just to make the bread a little bolder and heartier. Easy recipe and it turned out wonderfully. I halved the recipe, and it cut the cooking time down to about 17 min. (I was using a convection oven, so that may have been why.) The next time I make this bread, however, I'll try a different seasoning besides basil. Perhaps tarragon...?
