Bread Machine Garlic Bread

"This bread is so delicious and will really make your house smell wonderful as it is baking. I've fooled around with this recipe and have done various things (used olive oil instead of butter, added basil and oregeno) etc, so it is very versitle. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!"

Questions & Replies

  1. If I prepare dough in bread machine is there a oven time and temp suggested for baking?

  2. would you get the dough to raise after bread machine cycle for a hr, then seperate in 3 doughs then braid together, and lastly have that raise for 20 min or so then bake?

  3. If I make this on the dough setting, then put it in a loaf pan to bake, do you recommend 350F for 35-40 min?

  4. This is more like a suggestion: I really like your recipes but why put the Nutrition Info in the middle of the document when printing. It would be so nice if it was at the very end. Thank you for considering my request. Hélène

  5. I cannot find my book for the order of ingredients of my bread machine. Can someone help, please?

  1. This was a wonderful recipe. I made this to go with some lasagna for my family. They thought it was just awesome. Thanks for posting this recipe.

  2. Nice easy recipe - I agree with the other comments that this garlic needs to be increased - I used 4 tsp of jarred minced garlic and 1/8 tsp garlic powder, but neither my husband nor I can even tell there's any garlic in there... The bread itself is lovely. (I added an extra 2 Tbs of water b/c our dough tends to be dry and then not rise enough). Idk why more than 1 Tbs of garlic isn't really tastable/discernible in the finished loaf, but if you love garlic, do more than I did.

  3. Recipe called for "3 teaspoons of garlic" curious why it didn't say "1 tablespoon"? Couldn't taste the garlic at all. Good flavor with all the spices though! Would add more garlic next time!

  4. This smells wonderful while cooking. It tastes just as good. The only thing I didn't like about it is the crust was so hard, which made cutting it a bit more difficult and messy. Next time I make it I am going to add some parmesan cheese to it. Definitely a keeper recipe :)

  5. I have made this three times now and my family loves it. The first time I followed the recipe exactly, the second time I had about 3 Tbsp of parmesan left in a container, so threw it in (and my husband told me to always make it with the cheese), the third time I was out of parsley and so felt compelled to make one minor adjustment and use Italian seasoning instead, which seems to be acceptable to my husband and children as there is not a crumb left. The time we did have a few slices leftover, we found it made excellent toast.
